      Hello Islanders;

      Welcome to the D.Y.C. swim page where you can learn about our indoor and outdoor pool usage and availability. It is amazing to note that our indoor pool offers year round use, and access to swimming programs.  As we move forward we hope to bring you more swimming and pool related opportunities.

      Winter Swim Programs:  Sept - May

      Learn to Swim is currently run by Avery Westfall.  This program is for all ages of people who are looking to conquer their fear of the water, or to make sure kids and family learn this incredible life saving skill of swimming.  Currently Avery is offering Learn to Swim classes on Tuesday evenings beginning at 5pm, and Saturday mornings beginning at 11am.

      Swim School Groups is currently run by Scott MacDonald.  This program is for all ages and is about learning racing style swimming, as well as developing higher levels of fitness and performance for swimming. The swim school is aimed at teaching people best technique swimming learning the four competition based strokes.  This program works with members schedules, and allows for swimmers to remain part of other sports teams and commitments.  The swim school offers 3 mini-meets, and runs from September – May (broken up into 8 week sessions)

      Summer Swim Islanders – Head Coach Scott MacDonald. The Summer Swim program is an amazing experience.  This is available for kids until the age of 17.  DYC is proud to have swimmers as young as 6 being members of the summer team also.  Summer Sim is a competitive based league involving 14 other clubs. It is the oldest Inter-Club swim league in the United States, MICSA.   The summer swim team offers an introduction to competition level swimming, while remaining family and club dedicated. Clubs travel to and are hosted by Private clubs in the league. Following each swim meet there is dinner, and party time so that club members have the opportunity to experience and see other clubs as well as socialize with the Hosting Members Club. The summer swim team is a 10 week program beginning in May, and concluding with a 3 day Championship meet involving all 14 teams.  The Championship meet is always on the last weekend of July. (May-July)
